Test SMTP Settings

If you have configured the SMTP server settings, you can test the SMTP configuration. This feature tests the configuration for both the primary and the secondary SMTP servers.

This feature uses the SMTP server to send a test email to the email address specified as the Return Email Address in the SMTP settings.

For testing purposes, you can enter your own email address in the Return Email Address field.

Procedure 

  1. Go to System Management Module that allows performing suite-wide system management activities from a single, Web-based application, the Enterprise Manager.. Under Enterprise, select Settings.

  2. In the Installations tree, select the Enterprise node.

  3. Click Enterprise Settings.

  4. Click the Test SMTP Settings button in the lower right corner of the screen.

    If the SMTP settings are configured correctly, a message appears at the top of the Enterprise Settings screen indicating the email was sent successfully. To read all the message content, scroll through the message.

    If the SMTP settings are not configured correctly, the message at the top of the screen indicates that an error occurred when sending the email message. The message also indicates whether the primary SMTP server settings, the secondary SMTP server settings, or both sets of settings are configured incorrectly.
