Creating Sites
A Site represents a facility or location in your enterprise at which physical servers are installed. In the Installations tree, the Site node is a container of individual servers.
When creating a Site, note the following:
-
You cannot have two Sites of the same name directly beneath the same Site Group (parent) node.
-
Sites cannot contain Site Groups or other Sites.
-
You must have the Edit Installation Hierarchy user security privilege Permissions associated with each role that define the features of the application a user is able to view and the functionality in the application the user can access. assigned to create a Site node.
Segregating Data Center Zone Server Roles and Site Zone Server Roles in Separate Sites
For higher-level deployments (L2 and above), make sure that a site node in the Installations tree does not contain a server that has both Data Center Zone server roles and Site Zone server roles activated. All the servers under a site node must contain only active Data Center Zone server roles or only active Site Zone server roles.
If you have a site node that contains a server with both active Data Center Zone server roles and active Site Zone server roles, you cannot enable HTTPS for specific sites. You also cannot enable Data Center SSL Offload.
