Configure the Management Service Account and Database Management Service Account credentials

You can specify the user names and passwords associated with the Management Service Account (MSA) and the Database Management Service Account (DMSA).

This procedure is only one of several procedures you must complete to change the credentials of these accounts or to specify different MSA or DMSA accounts.

See the System Administration Guide before you perform this procedure. That guide describes all procedures you must complete to change the credentials of these accounts or to specify different MSA or DMSA accounts.

Procedure

  1. Go to System Management Module that allows performing suite-wide system management activities from a single, Web-based application, the Enterprise Manager.. Under Enterprise, select Settings.

  2. In the Installations tree (left pane), select the appropriate node of the Installations tree: Enterprise, Site Group, or Site.

All servers that are beneath the selected node use the MSA and DMSA credentials you specify to access services in the system.

  3. Click Enterprise Settings.

  4. In the Management Service Account section, specify the user name and password of the Windows account that serves as the MSA.

  5. In the Database Management Service Account section, specify the user name and password of the Windows account that serves as the DMSA.

  6. Click Save or Save and Apply to Children as appropriate.

  7. Check the System Monitoring, System Monitor, Alarm Dashboard screen for new alarms that indicate it is necessary to restart services. If these alarms appear, restart the services indicated by the alarms.

Alarms indicating that services must be restarted sometimes do not appear in the Alarm Dashboard until several minutes after you have saved the Enterprise Settings changes.
