Manually assign a serial number to a recorder server

You can manually assign a serial number to a recorder server. Manually assign a serial number to a recorder server when you are upgrading a recorder server by replacing an existing server with a new server.

Before you begin

You must have the Add Serial Number user privilege Permissions associated with each role that define the features of the application a user is able to view and the functionality in the application the user can access. assigned (or a security role that includes this user privilege, such as Enterprise Manager Admin or Administrator).

Procedure

Go to System Management. Under Enterprise, select Settings.
In the Installations tree (left pane), select the recorder server to which you want to assign a serial number.
Select More Actions, then select Add Serial Number.
Enter the serial number you want to assign to the recorder server.
Click Save.
