Configuration status and configuration message overview

You can view information about configuration errors on each server in the enterprise. You can also view and manage the configuration messages sent from the Enterprise Manager application to individual servers.

You can prevent (or block) Enterprise Manager from sending configuration messages to a particular server in upgrade or troubleshooting scenarios.

What is a configuration message?

A configuration message is an XML document that contains the configuration changes that you make in Enterprise Manager for an individual server.

Enterprise Manager transmits these configuration messages (or XML documents) over the network to the servers when you make configuration changes to the servers. The servers use the data in the configuration message documents to implement the configuration changes.
