Auto Associations
Server role automatic associations are handled as described here in upgrade and rollback scenarios.
The following is true for auto associations in upgrade scenarios:

If the upgraded server role Entity that contains a logical, predefined set of components (system software or certified third-party software) deployed in the Data Center and Site Zones that provide specific functionality for the system. metadata contains required associations that did not exist in the replaced server role, Enterprise Manager automatically makes those associations.

If the replaced server role has an association configured that is not specified in the upgraded version of the server role metadata, the association is retained. The administrator must decide following the upgrade whether to retain the association or manually remove it.
To remove a server role association Relationship between server roles, where one server role relies on the configuration and functionality of another server role to perform its tasks. manually, in the Installations tree select the server role from which you want to remove the association. Select the Associations tab, clear the check mark for the role association, and click Save.
During a server role rollback, only the associations that are specified in the rolled back version of the server role metadata are automatically made. All other associations are removed.
