Adding a Server

An administrator adds managed servers to the Installations tree by selecting a Site node and then clicking the Create Installation, Server button. The administrator then completes the New Server screen.

When the administrator saves the New Server screen, the Enterprise Manager performs the server discovery Process performed by the Enterprise Manager application in which the application regularly communicates with each server in the system to determine whether any new software (new release, service pack, hot fix, or patch) or server roles have been added or installed on the server. process on the server specified in the New Server screen.
