This capability is also often called “disaster recovery.”
A redundant data center environment requires the creation of two identical data centers. If a disaster occurs (such as a fire or flood) that renders the production data center inoperable, you can perform a series of procedures to switch data center operations from the inoperable data center to a separate, geographically remote identical data center. After the switch over, data center operations can resume as normal.
You must purchase a separate license to support the data center redundancy functionality in your enterprise.
Because of the complexity involved, the procedures associated with setting up and configuring redundant data centers, and performing data center switch overs, are not described in the online help. For detailed information, about these procedures see the Data Center Redundancy guide.
