Archive media
Archive supports the use of fixed and removable media.
Removable media
Because the devices are physically attached to a recorder, removable media devices are defined through Recorder Manager at the recorder level.
Fixed media
Fixed media devices are not physically attached to a recorder, but are accessible over the network. They are enterprise resources managed through the Recording Management component. Once defined, they can be selected as the media associated with a logical drive.
The Media definition, which includes a specified Archive Web Service, is written directly to the database. This Web Service is associated to the database where the information about the media is stored.
Avoiding media and drive issues
To avoid issues with call deletion and playback Process of selecting a recorded interaction, playing it back to listen to the call, and viewing the content of the interaction on the screen., define the archive media to suit your recorder deployments.
-
To use a single defined media for multiple drives, the media must point to a shared network folder that the recorders can access.
-
To use local devices, create separate media definitions for each device and assign each media to a separate drive. Example: Two recorders each have a physically attached device. Define one device as Media A and one as Media B. Then assign Media A to Drive 1 and Media B to Drive 2.
The deletion of Interactions on archive media is only supported on Amazon V4, Azure, SAN, and EMC media types. The archive drive that has access to that media must be configured as an active, writable drive. Calls cannot be deleted from drives defined as replay or read-only.
